There are over 100 golf courses in the valley. Some are very expensive, some are less so. The rates vary significantly depending on the time of day and season of the year. We pick a few golf courses and then use Stand By Golf or Next Day Golf to make our bookings. If you give them 4 or 5 course names and a range of acceptable tee off times, they can usually give you a good discount rate. We always pick up the current issue of Desert Golfing Digest-for free at various golfing equipment stores and golf courses. Via the internet we can buy the Desert Golf Guide. A few golf courses are profiled to the right. Other super courses with spectacular views include: LANDMARK GOLF CLUB GOLF RESORT AT INDIAN WELLS DESERT WILLOWS GOLF RESORT For a change we sometimes golf at Sobaba Springs in the next valley over (cooler and cheaper). This is a 45 minute drive from the condo, back towards L.A.

CATHEDRAL CANYON COUNTRY CLUB The course in our complex is very handy and you can usually get on. TAHQUITZ CREEK GOLF CLUB Close by, with 2 courses: Resort and Legends. Resort is the best (most expensive), but Legends is also good. MESQUITE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB Also nearby and is about the same level as our Cathedral Canyon course. THE LA QUINTA RESORT AND CLUB The Montain Course is beautiful - it takes us about 40 minutes to get there door to door. THE DESERT DUNES COURSE Great target golf (avoid windy days). Just across the interstate in Desert Hot Springs, about 1/2 hour away.
